Mango Season, Smashwords, and Still Reading Caribbean

June is over — but let’s be real: Read Caribbean doesn’t stop just because the calendar page flipped.
Not over here. Not ever.
Because I don’t just read Caribbean — I write Caribbean. All year long.

Still, July brings its own energy. And for me, it means two things:

  1. Summer is almost over (cue dramatic sigh)

  2. Mango season is in full swing (cue joyful shouting in dialect)

Let’s talk about the second one.
All the mangoes — Julie, Long, Hairy, Grafted, you name it — will be fighting for my attention.
Lawd, let them fight — but may the price be good.

I miss the days of climbing a mango tree barefoot, resting on a thick branch like a throne, the wind in my face, legs swinging back and forth while I bite into the fruit — skin and all. Mango juice sliding down my elbows, sticky and golden, while I prayed this one didn’t have a worm buried deep inside.
And even when it did?
I’d make a face, toss the bitten part, and go again.
Because mango season waits for no one.

This month also brings the annual Smashwords Summer Sale — and I’m leaning into it with some love.
📚 Three of my books are free. Yes, free.
Because stories should be shared — and these stories? They’re full of heart, heat, and heritage.

And if a story moves you, makes you pause, makes you laugh, or makes you miss your mango tree — please leave a review. It helps more than you know. Readers deserve stories that make them feel, and your words help others discover those feelings too.

Summer’s not quite over yet — but don’t let it slip past without diving into something good.

🍃 There’s so much to read — don’t miss out.
(And tell me… which mango wins your heart every time?)
