November Notes from Leah T. Williams

๐Ÿ“š Author. Educator. Caribbean storyteller.

Whew. November already?

With five books out in the world โ€” five! โ€” Iโ€™m so excited for you to jump into these stories. And there are plenty more in my head, trust me. Theyโ€™re up there arguing like cousins over the last mango. Iโ€™m getting to them, I promise.

This month, Iโ€™m stepping into something new โ€” my first year participating in Teach-In! Iโ€™m beyond excited to visit classrooms and talk to students about books, culture, and the beauty of storytelling. Sharing my journey (and my island roots!) is one of the most rewarding parts of this work.

Iโ€™m also thinking about a new poetry book, but the characters already swirling around in my head wonโ€™t hush. They spinning โ€˜round like a pot spoon in Saturday soup.

If youโ€™re new here, hereโ€™s whatโ€™s already on your reading list:

  1. Black Girls Day Off โ€“ A historical fiction/contemporary crossover. My first hardcover with a book jacket! Also available in paperback. Audiobook coming soon.

  2. Sweet Like Sugarcane โ€“ A tender prequel full of love and legacy. Available as audiobook, paperback, and eBook.

  3. Where the Guava Tree Stands โ€“ A novel-in-verse about migration, memory, and identity. Available as audiobook, paperback, and eBook.

  4. Neither Out Far Nor In Deep โ€“ A Caribbean coming-of-age story rooted in family and self-worth. Available as audiobook, paperback, and eBook.

  5. Where Is Noemi โ€“ A young adult mystery about sisterhood and secrets. Available in paperback and eBook.

๐Ÿ“š You can find all five books on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, and other online retailers โ€” or head to my website at www.leahtwilliams.net to explore them all in one place.

๐Ÿ—ฃ Iโ€™m still collecting honest reviews on Goodreads, Amazon, or wherever you like to share your reads. Reviews help so much โ€” not just for me, but for the readers who are still trying to find these stories.

Thanks for riding with me. For reading. For sharing. For believing in Caribbean stories โ€” not just in June, but all year long.
Weโ€™re not just summer reads. Weโ€™re forever reads.

With gratitude,
Leah T. Williams

What characters are living rent-free in your head this month?
Or better yet: What story have you been putting off that still wonโ€™t leave you alone?
