Two weeks in. You are halfway through the challenge and your child has been reading — really reading — for fourteen days straight. That is not nothing. That is a habit forming in real time.

This week we looked at power, want versus need, turning points, trust, and the bigger ideas underneath the story. That is the kind of reading that builds critical thinking — the kind of thinking that shows up on tests, in class discussions, and in life.

Reading Prompt:
Read 10–20 minutes. Notice if you are reading differently than you were on Day 1. Are you asking more questions? Noticing more? That is growth.

Week 2 Journal Prompts:

  1. Your main character has made at least one decision you either agreed or disagreed with. Write about one decision they made and whether you would have done the same thing. Why or why not?

  2. If your book were made into a movie who would you cast as the main character and why? Describe them specifically — not just their appearance but their energy, their voice, the way they carry themselves.

  3. Write one question you have about your story that hasn't been answered yet. What do you think the answer might be?

Week 3 unlocks Wednesday. Keep reading. 📚
