Six days. You've read more this week than most people read all summer. 📚
Today is a lighter day. No deep analysis. No looking for conflict or tracking characters. Today we're just celebrating what's working — the part of your book that has grabbed you the most so far.
Every reader has a moment in a book where something clicks. Maybe it's a scene that made you laugh out loud. A line so perfectly written you had to read it twice. A moment where a character did something so unexpected it changed how you saw the whole story. A description so vivid you felt like you were standing right there.
That moment is yours. It's the thing that makes this book your book.
As you read today notice:
What are you enjoying most about this story?
Is there a sentence or paragraph that stopped you in your tracks?
What made you pick up the book again today when you could have done something else?
Today's Reading Prompt: Read for 10–20 minutes. When something stands out — a funny moment, a powerful line, a surprising twist — pause and sit with it for a second before moving on.
Today's Writing Prompt: Write 2–3 sentences describing your favorite moment from the book so far. What happened and why did it stick with you? Then finish with this sentence starter —
"This part made me feel _______ because _______."
Tip for parents — ask your child to read their favorite part out loud to you tonight. Even two minutes of shared reading builds connection and makes the habit feel celebrated rather than assigned.
