Every story has a power structure. Someone is in charge. Someone isn't. Someone is trying to change that.

This week we start looking at the bigger forces at work in your story — not just what is happening but why it is happening and who is allowing it.

As you read today pay attention to who makes the decisions in your story. Who gets listened to? Who gets ignored? Who has something the others want or need?

Reading Prompt:
Read 10–20 minutes. Notice who holds power in your story and how they use it.

Writing Prompt:
Write a paragraph — at least 4–5 sentences — describing the power in your story. Who has it? Who wants it? How does it affect your main character?
